CARZ N’ TOYZ DONATION PROVIDES BASELINE TESTS FOR 600 LOCAL YOUTH ATHLETES

Carz N’ Toyz is proud to be partnering with Virtua, the Philadelphia Soul, and South Jersey Elite Invitational Youth Football League to sponsor baseline concussion testing for local youth athletes.

Virtua and The Philadelphia Soul announced the launch of their joint effort “Virtua Certified, Soul Approved” a concussion education and awareness program for youth football coaches, parents, and players with a mission to reduce concussion-related incidents as well as the effects of any incidents. To help jump start the program, Carz N’ Toyz raised and donated over $15K to Virtua Foundation which will provide over 600 concussion baseline tests to young athletes in the South Jersey Elite Youth Football League.

“As the concussion issue has become more and more prevalent in our society, we felt an obligation to be proactive in making a difference,” said Carz N’ Toyz President Sam Lacroce.  “It is our mission to support children in our community in various ways. We have worked closely with Virtua Foundation over the last three years to ensure our fundraising efforts can have the greatest impact on children and families, and believe that the concussion testing program is a perfect fit for our initiatives.”

Over 5,000 children, between the ages of 5 and 15, take the field each year through the South Jersey Elite Youth Football League. While every child athlete should be tested both pre and post injury, the sad reality is that many parents can’t afford it. Since pre-testing is considered preventative it is unlikely to be covered by insurance. Carz N’ Toyz is dedicated to raising money for this worthwhile cause.
